Sr Maria Regina
As you know we have a support community in the Generalate. Originally we had four Sisters; unfortunately, Sr. Rose Joseph had to leave us. Now, I have to tell you that Sr. Maria Regina is also going back to her Province of origin in Germany. Many of you know Regina. She was in India for some years; some of you may have been her Postulant. Then, she went to the mission in Brazil; she served there in various missions for forty years. She made up her mind to go back to Germany at that time, but, instead of that, she came joyfully to the Generalate when she was asked. She was instrumental in setting up the Generalate when it moved from Liege to England. She has been a vital member of the support community ever since. She will be greatly missed for her enthusiasm, her energy, her wonderful spirit of service and her prayerfulness.
Regina not only helped with the management of the Generalate, she had a special apostolate of visiting the sick in the area. Many times, because of her knowledge of languages, she was requested to interpret with the families of dying patients in St. Raphael’s Hospice run by the English Province. We thank Regina for all her service in the Congregation, and especially for her presence in the Generalate which made such a difference to all of us, and to the many visitors she has welcomed. As she leaves us on the 7th October, we thank her for all her hard work, we wish her happiness and good health in her new apostolate in her native Country.
