Glimpses of Ministry - Much Hadham

mosaic commemorating the centenarySt Elizabeth’s centre was established in 1903 by the Congregation of the Daughters of the Cross of Liege.  The Sisters work and dedicate their lives to demonstrate how the love of God and love of neighbour can be combined in a compassionate vision of caring for all people, bringing hope and joy in accordance with enduring Gospel values.  Recognising the humanity in everyone and treating all people with dignity and respect, The Congregation serves some of the  most vulnerable people in society to bring to life Christ’s words, “I have come that they may have life and have it to the full”

Today the 65 acre site hosts a residential non-maintained special school for young people up to the age of 19 years; a college for 32 learners in the 18-25 age range who aspire to more independent lifestyles, a ‘village’ of modern bungalows for over 100 adult residents, which constitutes St Elizabeth’s Care Home with Nursing.
